GIVING & SUPPORT

Giving and support – become a member and donor of The Carmel Public Library Foundation

Never has the Library been more important to our community. It is truly the heart and soul of Carmel. Usage at Harrison Memorial Library is at an all-time high. The services and programs offered by the Library are the most extensive ever (to learn more, go to what we do). And in these challenging economic times, the funding for the Library by the City has been reduced. The Foundation — because of the loyalty and generosity of its members and donors — has stepped up to the plate. Because of the increased number of supporters and their generous gifts, we have been able to maintain the Library’s hours and to continue to provide books and services. But to do this we need everyone’s continued support.

Planned Giving

The long-term growth in the endowment of the Foundation is the product of many people becoming members and donors of The Sterling Circle – contributors who have remembered the Foundation in their estate plans. For more details, please visit: Planned Giving. Click here for our Sterling Circle Brochure.

Sponsorship

Help offset the deepest budget reductions the Library has ever faced. Sponsorship benefits the Foundaiton and the sponsor. Various sponship plans are available.  Click here for our 2012 Sponsorship Packet.

Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Harrison Memorial Library provide valuable financial support, allowing the Library to increase the size and scope of its collection by raising a significant amount of money through an annual book sale. The Friends’ Book Sale is one of the highlights of the literary scene on the Monterey Peninsula. They welcome the donations of all of those books that are on your shelves or packed away somewhere that are ready to have new owners. The Friends are a fully staffed volunteer operation, and their three-day book sale in the fall is a major civic event: literally thousands of books are available for sale. First, give them a call to donate books. Second, come to the annual August Book Sale.

Call Anne Rurka at (831) 625-3418 for information regarding book drop-offs and pick-ups throughout the year and details on their annual August Book Sale.
